Grants Showcase – May 14
We are holding our 3rd Grants Showcase next week at the Learning Center at Gaudet Middle School. The Open House will be May 14, 2013 from 6pm – 7:30pm. Several of our grant recipients will be displaying and explaining the grants that they received from MEC, including Gaudet’s Mr. Beagan and Ms. Gauch. Ms. DeLima and her students will do a Latin dance performance, that they learned through a MEC grant. We are proud to announce that we have completed our Spring Grants Cycle for 2013. We received a large number of requests this cycle. Unfortunately, we were unable to fund all of the grant applications. But those we did fund will provide Middletown students with some really special educational opportunities. Our 6th Annual Rubber Duck Race will take place on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Third Beach in Middletown RI. Up to 1000 rubber ducks will race to raise funding for educational programs for Middletown public school students. The party starts at 5pm on the beach with a DJ and party games for the kids in the family. The main event of the evening, the Duck Race, takes place when we get all our ducks “in a row” or at least, to the starting line. Come watch your duck splash across the finish line and you might just win the Grand Prize....
