Our 6th Annual Rubber Duck Race will take place on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Third Beach in Middletown RI. Up to 1000 rubber ducks will race to raise funding for educational programs for Middletown public school students.

The party starts at 5pm on the beach with a DJ and party games for the kids in the family. The main event of the evening, the Duck Race, takes place when we get all our ducks “in a row” or at least, to the starting line. Come watch your duck splash across the finish line and you might just win the Grand Prize.

How It Works: Each duck that races is sponsored for $10 prior to the race. When you sponsor a duck you are assigned a number (think of it like a raffle ticket number)…

The 2011 -2012 school year has brought many changes to the Middletown education scene. For the Middletown Education Collaborative, that means a new website that we are proud to present to you at this time!

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Gail Abromitis, the new Middletown High School principal and Christopher Savastano, the new associate principal at Middletown High. Mike Mancieri is now the principal at J.H. Gaudet Middle School and Learning Academy, and Linda Beaupre is the new assistant principal at Gaudet!! Congratulations on your new positions in the Middletown school system!

Since 2004, the Middletown Education Collaborative has been helping to create enriching and innovative learning opportunities in all of the Middletown Public Schools. Our goal is to give all Middletown students the same opportunities that would be available to them at the best schools, be they public or private.

For the past seven years, your generosity has enabled MEC to fund over $90,000 in grants for enrichment activities, scholarships and educator excellence awards across all Middletown public schools in a variety of subjects including math, art, reading, music and foreign language arts. As we go through this school year, we will continue to partner with Middletown educators, families, schools and the community at large to achieve excellence in our Middletown Public Schools.

Your continued support allows us to give our teachers and students access to resources that they would not otherwise have. We thank you for giving our teachers and schools the opportunity to create a truly enriching atmosphere for learning and growing. None of this would be possible without your continued and generous support.

Thank you!
